Able City carries forward the legacy of its two predecessor firms established in 1978 and 1990. In 2017, the founding partners established Able City with the common vision of applying an expanded set of professional skills and knowledge for the betterment of cities and regions.
We love both the border community where we began our journey, Laredo, TX, and San Antonio, TX, the community that opened its arms to welcome our expanded headquarters.
From there, Able City has established offices in El Paso and McAllen. This gives us the opportunity to serve most of South Texas within short distances, allowing us to be exceptionally responsive to our diverse clients.
In 2023, our long-term collaboration with two of the country’s most skilled and prolific planners became an exciting opportunity to join forces and establish Able City East in Miami and Rhode Island. This milestone partnership seamlessly merges national and international planning and community engagement expertise with 40 years of architecture experience and an in-house economic development department – offering our clients a more comprehensive, integrated approach to realizing their goals.
Building on this momentum, we expanded our reach further in 2025 by opening a satellite office in New York City.
